Comments on: Wood Stove Installation Pipe Clearances

It was necessary to dismantle a “new” wood stove I purchased in 2000 in order to move it. I found in the sealing crevices a certain looking material which I am advised is asbestos. I need to replace that sealant. What do I do?.

I plan to exit the stove pipe through the roof. What do I need to assure that I have every safety precaution in place?

Hi….. I want to change our wood burning stove. My chimney is 8 inches. Most of the stove I like have six inch flues.
Can I use a 6 to 8 inch increaser? My chimnet is about 14 feet high and I would be using about 4 feet of black pipe from the stove to the chimney…thanx for your help
